Founded in 1975
The troupe Birds and Beasts Caricatures took the name of the troupe from a picture scroll depicting the play of monkeys and rabbits in a caricature, and the oldest manga in Japan.
We are aiming for new entertainment that is not bound by anything.
Until now, we have created a fun-filled stage that includes a variety of performance scenes, including Kabuki Musical.
The shamisen, dance, acrobatics and circus arts are mixed Japanese and Western, and the audience is entertained on a gorgeous stage with a tempo from the beginning to the end,
The content of the play is wide ranging from Shakespeare to Kabuki and contemporary social issues, and it has been highly evaluated for exploring new forms of play.
The currently performing “Shakespeare by three actors” won the award for work, and Shoichiro Akaboshi won Best supporting Actor in the International Theater Festival in China in 2019.
